There are classic elements that we put into every Porch Company porch. For this particular client, one porch just wasn’t enough! Years after we built her a porch she gave us a second call when she began building her new home. This space is elegant, beautiful and classic–with many of the unique design features of our porches.
Some of our traditional features that you see above is an exposed rafter ceiling with stained collar ties, tongue and groove cypress flooring and 6×6 pressure treated laminated posts.
The beautiful, white fireplace is decorated with one of our timber mantels which we hollow out to hide all of those ugly TV boxes and cords. Also in this porch you will see our fabric curtains and bed swing–products that can be purchased on The Porch Store.
Another signature Porch Company feature is the low beadboard wall. This allows the space to feel more like a room. We wanted to keep the wall low for visibility to the outside, so we added horizontal bars to meet the code requirements.
This porch is large enough for a seating and dining area. In the photograph above you can really see the aesthetic affect of those beautiful, stained collar ties. What you cannot see is the string of LED lights on top of them that shine up into the exposed rafter ceiling at night.
The porch leads out onto a deck for grilling and then further down to a cozy patio for sitting. The large sliding door that you see leading to the porch is more like a sliding wall! We sell these custom made screen doors on our online store as well.
And of course, as is our goal with every one of our projects, the porch blends seamlessly into the rest of the house from the exterior.
It is always such a pleasure to us when a customer is thrilled with their porch. But for a customer to be thrilled with two porches? Well, that makes us pretty darn happy.
